Portfolio update…yay!

My dear friend Michelle finally unloaded some goodies for me. These shoots are quite old, but they still look banging, no?

faux pas ou pas?//Jean shorts.

I’m not gonna lie, I love a jean short. But, it’s time to back down and end your reign gracefully.

Up until college, I decided that shorts, as a type of clothing, sucks ass. Like literally sucking your ass into the smallest amount of fabric possible. It is all sorts of uncomfortable and revealing all at the same time. In high school, I was all about the jean skirt. But that’s a whole other thing…

obsession de l’année(?)// Emerald.

Pantone has crowned Emerald the Color of the Year. And thanks to those lovely people at Pantone, I can finally attach a name to my favorite bluish-greenish color. My 6 year-old self can now stop misspelling turquoise and move on to emerald. Turquoise was always a little too blue for me and teal was a stupid internet default color.

monday musings//The D is silent.

It’s Oscar season again folks. I won’t bore you with the obvious style makers in the Best Costume Design category. We get it…old clothes are pretty fucking impressive, but I will highlight some of the more unusual fashion muses in this year’s little gold man nominees. First up, Django.

Who wouldn’t want to look like this guy? His costume is pure badass. The western influences are subtle and cool, timeless almost. Not a cowboy shirt or boot in sight. Who knew antebellum style could be relavent today?

I strangely wanted to emulate his style. I’m a big proponent of functional fashion. Why not make your clothes do double duty? Pockets and space for a sleeve mounted pistol? Yes, please.
